Photographer Martha Cooper, whose 1984 book Subway Art covered the early days of train graffiti, has a new obsession: all those graffitied postal stickers that plaster the city. Her new photo book, Going Postal, features postal-sticker art stuck on streets from Berlin to Tokyo by artists including Faust, Stain, C.Damage, and Cosbe. As Cooper recently told our own Camille Dodero: “What I really like about postal stickers is the idea that the U.S. government is participating in street art.” We’re sure Obama’s totally down. Tonight’s book-launch party includes a sticker exchange, in which you can buy, sell, and exchange handmade stickers.
