New England psych rockers Major Stars possess a knack for wrangling in precarious jams—a rare talent for blotter-rockers, especially live. On disc, there are times where their songs sound stretched too far, as if they might collapse under the weight of a lengthy guitar solo, too many cymbal crashes, or frontwoman Sandra Barrett's confident bellow.
