Chicago sound geeks Brendon Anderegg and Koen Holtkamp love the endless push of a tambura drone, the crystal strum of a Fahey tune, the earthy presence of a field recording, the mysterious crackle of a mysterious crackling thing. Together as Mountains, they create mellow yet intense swells of whatever beautiful distraction they feel like plucking, tapping, or playing on their laptops. Not always sublime but never less than pleasant.
