Last year’s Beautiful Creature is as long on half-baked, radical, left-wing politics as any of Primal Scream’s records since XTRMNTR in 2000. (Dig “Suicide Bomb,” yo.) But with tunes such as “Over & Over,” a sweet dub-soul duet with Linda Thompson, it also proves that frontman Bobby Gillespie hasn’t lost the pop-song know-how that once made him a major player on the Brit-rock scene. Kuroma, from Athens, Georgia, play daffy, wistful, psych-pop fluff masterminded by former Whigs and MGMT dude Hank Sullivant.
