FASHION QUEEN

And it all started with those sexy wrap dresses

Though Diane von Furstenburg has allowed ditzy reality-show princess Whitney Port of the MTV's The City to pretend to work at her PR offices with, rumor has it, a camera crew that torments her staff, we won't hold it against her. Much. After all, von Furstenburg, whose groundbreaking early-1970s wrap dress is included in the collection of the Met's Costume Institute, is easily one of the most intriguing women working in fashion today. Tonight, she'll discuss her Fall 2009 collection—one that exhibited a strong yet playful, feminine, and truly modern look that her fans have long admired—with host Pamela Golbin, curator in chief at the Musée de la Mode et du Textile of the Palais du Louvre.
