Boy

(Nagisa Oshima, 1969). Based on a true story, this corrosive picture is one of the most bitter satires ever made about the Japanese family. It concerns a mother and father who instruct their ten-year-old son to throw himself in front of moving cars and pretend to be injured so they can extort money from drivers. The boy is played by Abe Tetuo with great subtlety.
