Detroit sextet Tyvek play frenetic, noisy, punky garage rock like the Germs slowed down or early Kinks sped up, instead of anything similar to their hometown&'s garage-rock ancestors. The quality of their shows depends on the weather (the band's guitarist/vocalist/feedbackist Kevin Boyer has said as much in interviews), but, given that, every one of their sets consists of a sort of joyful chaos. Openers Woods are cut from the same ilk, but in the opposite way: They play plinky psychedelic numbers that are more catchy than chaotic, but contain the same proportion of tape hiss to overdriven guitar.
