FLIGHT OF THE SUGALUMPS

The Kings of New Zealand come back for round two

Some have slanted season two of HBO's Flight of the Conchords as sort of weak. Perhaps the showcasing of hapless band-manager Murray's vocals wasn't the best idea. But there's no doubt that, this season, Jemaine's star shines a little brighter than Bret's—and that's been a very good thing (for us Jemaine fans, at least). If you caught the hirsute guys in action last year at Town Hall, you know that the folk-comedy duo, armed with a couple of acoustic guitars, have practiced long and hard to perfect the art of charming onstage awkwardness. Expect them to blend old-school favorites like "Business Time" and "Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros" with songs from the new season. We'll just be happy with anything that includes their lovely "Sugalumps."
