Louisiana Story

(Robert Flaherty, 1948). A fitting culmination to Flaherty's long career, marked by its simple visual beauty, this is less a doc about the Cajun people of Louisiana than an autobiographical picture about the director himself. From the viewpoint of a Cajun boy, it seems a poetic reflection of Flaherty's own youth, in which he explores his own life-long relationship to the wilderness.
