COMPANY MAN

Ethan Coen explores cubicle hell

Last year, Ethan Coen's Almost an Evening made for a merry night at the Atlantic Theater. And now, the Atlantic has announced almost a sequel, a collection of Coen comedies entitled Offices. Several members of Almost an Evening's cast—F. Murray Abraham, Joey Slotnick, Mary McCann—will no longer swell the ranks of the unemployed. They've all signed on for desk jobs, as has director Neil Pepe. (The show will also keep Daniel Abeles, C.J. Wilson, and Aya Cash out of the breadlines.) Descriptions of the one-acts have yet to emerge, though the show will examine various elements of workplace strife: hiring, firing, competition, alienation. Sounds like a labor of love.
Tuesdays-Fridays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 & 8 p.m.; Sundays, 3 & 7 p.m. Starts: April 15. Continues through May 31, 2009
