What better way to spend your April 20 than contemplating whether Knyfe Hyts just partook in their eponymous stoner-meets-butter-knife ritual? Alter-egos and costumes might be totally played, but at the Hyts' scale—with a catalogue of cassette-only releases, to boot—it makes the Brooklyn trio and their blown-out sludge practically sub-Googleable. Ergo, y'know, mysterious. The Hyts' lo-fi blasts batter at the punk-metal fabric, trying to liberate the cosmos behind. They occasionally get through. It's a release party, too, but damned if they've announced for what.
