Looking for a trip more vitally psychedelic than (what's left of) the Dead at Madison Square Garden? Secret Project Robot, located near Glasslands in a slice of industrial Williamsburg waterfront that still feels miraculously alive, is something of a perpetual Happening, housing rehearsal spaces, galleries, and at a performance space decorated with wending cardboard tree-branches. Add the art-throbbing Pterodactyl (releasing their new Worldwild), the relentless kraut jams of Oneida (who practice elsewhere in the building), video by 25 artists, and "live cinema," much of it presumably overlapping with the bandmembers' faces.
