NYC HEARTS JOHN LENNON

Artifacts of the rebellious Beatle

From his very first visit in 1964, John Lennon was a New Yorker. Lennon, through his music and activism, always expressed his adoration of New York—even his lengthy fight against deportation never diminished his love for this grand city. Now, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex is returning the love with John Lennon: The New York City Years, an exhibition that features his green card and never-before-seen private letters penned by Joan Baez, Dick Clark, and former NYC mayor John Lindsay, in support of Lennon receiving an American visa. Besides the iconic photographs, legendary instruments, original handwritten lyrics, and artwork, the show also displays Lennon's actual "New York City" T-shirt.
