The Golden Girls meet Lance Bass
Though we are still mourning the loss of the beloved Bea Arthur, we have to admit the timing couldn't be better for an all-drag Golden Girls–inspired musical—Thank You for Being a Friend. The oft-rerun '80s sitcom about women of a certain age living it up in Miami already provides plenty of fodder for camp, but this unauthorized stage spin-off takes it up a notch with Blanchette, Dorothea, Roz, and Sophie navigating neighborhood politics when Lance Bass moves next door to their bungalow. What's more, the soundtrack consists of showtune parodies. We hope "Miami, You've Got Style" also makes the cut.
