If you don't know where your groceries are coming from (and who does, really?), Food Inc., a new documentary by filmmaker Robert Kenner, aims to show you that it's not from Old McDonald's farm anymore—and we, the consumer, have encouraged it. From pointing fingers at the lax regulations set by the USDA and FDA to farmers making such terrifying revelations as, "If you can grow a chicken in 49 days, why would you want one you can grow in three months?" the movie is likely to scare you away from purchasing anything as seemingly harmless as a box of Wheaties ever again. Tonight, after the screening, hear from the director and some of the film's biggest advocates, who include Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Alice Waters (co-owner of Chez Panisse), Gary Hirshberg (CEO of Stonyfield Farm), and Marcel Van Ooyen (executive director of the Council on the Environment of New York City).
