DAMN YANKEES

MOMA looks at American filmmakers in Britain

Oh, we Americans just love taking credit for everything, don't we? MOMA's latest film series The Sixties: Yanks in Britain looks at the heyday of British cinema and what we did to make it so great! Today, see two influential films by two Austrian-born American directors: Otto Preminger's thriller Bunny Lake Is Missing and Fred Zinnemann's Oscar-winning A Man for All Seasons. Other films in the series, which runs through June 24, include Richard Lester's Beatles mockumentary-style comedy A Hard Day's Night and Stanley Kubrick's Lolita and Dr. Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Honestly, what would they have done without us?
