Killer's Kiss

(Stanley Kubrick, 1955). Kubrick's second feature, a one-man show (he wrote, edited, shot, produced and directed it), a gritty low-budget noir, concerns a doomed romance between a young boxer and a dancer in a sinister nightclub. Its principal pleasures are the superb black-and-white cinematography and a surreal climactic fight in a warehouse full of dismantled mannequins.
