Artist and former Cooper Union student Daniel Arsham is coming up fast in the art world thanks to his surreal architectural designs that turn the everyday into something exciting—from staircases that lead to nowhere to walls that might tie you in a knot. When legendary choreographer Merce Cunningham tapped him to design the sets for 2007's eyeSpace in 2007, which premiered in Miami, and then again earlier this year for his performance honoring Robert Rauschenberg in Paris, people took notice—after all, Cunningham had also once picked Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol. Tonight, he'll bring a three-dimensional cube and other built spaces to One Chase Manhattan Plaza for Untitled Corner, a free site-specific dance collaboration on memory loss and pattern recognition by the award-winning choreographer Jonah Bokaer, a former dancer from Cunningham's company, and Judith Sanchez Ruiz, a former dancer for Trisha Brown Dance Company. LMCC's Sitelines, a part of the River To River Festival, presents the performance.
