Even the biggest music lovers among us have trouble keeping up with the latest Brooklyn band or record label. To remedy this, Todd Brooks, the founder of the Brooklyn arts organization Pendu, brought everyone together in December for the two-day NY Eye and Ear Fest, a new bi-annual festival to celebrate the hardworking people who make our music scene the best in the country. The second installment of the DIY spectacular is twice as big, with four days of noise, which started Thursday with a massive two-day takeover of the Knitting Factory. Today is the main event at 92Y Tribeca with a record fair (featuring more than 30 local record labels, including favorites Matador Records, Noiseville, and Abandon Ship Records), as well as live musical performances and the film program "Women of NY Cinema." It all wraps up on Sunday with a big party at Death by Audio in Brooklyn, with performances by Talibam! and Team Robespierre, among others. Come out and support!
