William Elliott Whitmore

He's a Mississippi bluesman—and before you dismay that he doesn't happen to be African-American, you should know a couple of things about him. He's no slacker, putting out seven albums this decade. His bluesy voice is tempered with a soulful tinge, kind of like Hootie's Darius Rucker if he wasn't trying so damn hard all the time. Plus, he's hip enough to have Tom Waits, Marianne Faithful, and Neko Case as label-mates now. Not too shabby.
