'Everything the Traffic Will Allow: The Songs and Sass of Ethel Merman'

Klea Blackhurst reprises her valentine to a musical comedy idol, not just of hers but also of theater-goers many ages over. Smartly, the brassy-haired singer doesn't do a mere impersonation of La Merm; she approximates it while also remaining true to her brazenly talented self. She introduced the show a handful of years back, but it's undoubtedly as fresh and piercing as one of Merman's signature grace notes.
Saturdays, 5 p.m. Starts: July 25. Continues through Sept. 5, 2009
