(Anthony Asquith, 1938) Before there was My Fair Lady there was Pygmalion, the best screen adaptation of a Shaw play ever, with letter-perfect Leslie Howard as phonetic prof Henry Higgins and the splendid Wendy Hiller as the uncouth Cockney flower seller he encounters and transforms into a grand lady.
