The Rural Alberta Advantage

The mining ghosts and cowboy country of rural Alberta, Canada, have inspired many a musician. It's a sparse landscape drenched in mythology, eager to build bridges between hurt and heartbreak, lust and loneliness, where it all goes down with a shot of Canadian Club. Though the three musicians of the RAA are now based in Toronto (a town with its own ghost stories to tell), their debut Hometowns chronicles the province better than Sufjan ever could through their soundscape of raucous melancholy. Plus, singer Nils Edenloff totally sounds like Jeff Magnum. With the countrystyled the Dig and Hollerado.
