Stardeath & White Dwarfs

If you're at all bummed that the Flaming Lips are spiraling into a noise-jazz mush of Oneida beats and Black Moth textures, Wayne Coyne's honest-to-God nephew Dennis Coyne is keeping the spirit of their acid-fried cosmic pop alive with his band Stardeath and White Dwarfs. New album The Birth has all the Lips' psych-fuzz glee, confetti-ready hooks, and bashing drums, and adds a few swirly acoustic numbers, too, and lots of space goo. Art-pop bliss: The Pink Robots will not win this round. With Dinowalrus.
