The bassist's singular buoyancy helps personalize all the swing his bands generate. Long story short, everything seems to be bouncing in his music. That might be especially true for this new foursome, which invites pianist Jason Moran into the fold. He's always bringing unexpected ideas to the party, and combined with the way that saxophonist Chris Potter has been working the overt counterpoint with the leader of late, it could feel like a high-flying game of racquet ball.
