Though her career took off with her portrayal of an Empire-battling adoptee when she was but a barely legal 19, the daughter of showbiz royalty (Debbie Reynolds, Eddie Fisher) carved a distinct career for herself as a wryly comic novelist, screenwriter, and actress—all the while battling bipolar disorder and prescription-drug addiction. In her one-woman autobiographical show Wishful Drinking, Fisher takes the stage alone to tell the fascinating and funny story of how she overcame such tribulations a long time ago—in a galaxy far, far away.
