Shellshag

Like White Stripes, these locals are a boy/guitar, girl/drums duo—but unlike Jack and Meg, they're much more rabid and raw about their love of garage bands. Because they're much lighter on melodies, they're considered a cult act, but that's just fine with them. They're worth catching live if only for their memorable finales, which usually happen somewhere in the middle of the crowd or even somewhere outside of the venue. With Haru Bangs and the Pharmacy.
