Dir. Edo Bertoglio (2000). The cool kids of 30 years ago are preserved in this fossil of the Lower Manhattan nightlife. Teenaged Jean-Michel Basquiat plays himself as a holy innocent who checks out of a hospital and spends the rest of the movie looking for a place to crash. En route to the Mudd Club, Basquiat pauses to appreciate lively performances by DNA, James White, and Kid Creole. Despite some eye-rolling dialogue, its an amiable time-trip.
