Dir. Billy Wilder (1959).
Two jazz musiciansTony Curtis and Jack Lemmonwitness a gangster massacre, escaping Chicago disguised as members of an all-female band whose featured performer is Marilyn Monroe (never sweeteralthough her onset antics caused Curtis to complain that kissing her was like kissing Hitler). A corpse-littered farce riffing on homosexuality, cross-dressing, impotence, and masochism, Billy Wilders greatest comedy was so popular that one of the networks considered using it as the basis for a sitcom.
