Mason Jennings

Here's a guy whose idea of going electric is plugging in a hollow-bodied Gibson, who touts "I Love You and Buddha Too" as a protest song, who was sure to warn his mother before releasing his latest and darkest record, Blood of Man, which contains some drug references. Mild-mannered Jennings has spent more than a decade strumming lilting acoustic pop, earning the admiration of the alt-left (i.e. Isaac Brock) and mainstream (i.e. Jack Johnson) for his good-natured lyricism and frank delivery. Recently, the Minnesota-based songwriter has developed a following in beach communities, thanks to his Hawaiian roots and placement in surf video soundtracks. With Anni Rossi.
