Owen is the solo guise of Chicago emo journeyman Mike Kinsella, who's played in Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc, Owls, and even a couple of bands that didn't include his brother Tim. Kinsella gets a little sentimental on the just-released New Leaves, as always, but he usually packs enough melody to offset the sap. The One AM Radio revolves around L.A.-based singer-guitarist Hrishikesh Hirway and his dreamy indie-pop songs.
