When Montreal's Chromeo came on the scene in 2004, they were just two guys who wanted to dance. Signed to Vice, with a proclivity for Cameo squiggle synths and talk box vocals, Chromeo revived the airbrushed aesthetics of mall glam electro, never before so violently ironic. Like Laurel and Hardy, there's little guy Dave 1 and big guy P-Thugg, the alter egos of a literary Ph.D. student and his childhood best friend, eager to get all tenderoni on your girl. New single "Night By Night" revisits an eighties sleaze that could've been Don Johnson's personal theme song, meant for Members Only. With the Phenomenal Handclap Band.
