ROYAL EXCELLENCE

Festival made for the insanely curious

There could be a gazillion festivals aimed at the "indie" crowd, but the Royal Flush Festival may possibly top them all. The five-day fest combines the grit and fun of underground movies, video games, art, and music with drinking, dancing, and more drinking. The party will start on Thursday with a night of revelry at Hiro Ballroom, featuring music by Kenny Muhammad a/k/a The Human Orchestra. Royal Flush magazine (featuring cover boy Hugh Hefner) will host its party on Friday at Crash Mansion, and Saturday will have the Automorphosis Art Car Show outside Anthology Film Archives as well as a performance by Melissa Auf der Maur at the Knitting Factory. On Sunday, check out a slew of short horror films at Anthology Film Archives, an exhibit on American rock-poster art at the Showroom NYC, and the Royal Flush Rock-N-Soul Party at White Rabbit. Yeah, we dare you to keep up.
