The Girl From Monaco

Dir. Anne Fontaine (2008). This romantic farce with noir trimmings features eccentric Fabrice Luchini as a Parisian lawyer sent to Monaco to defend a woman (Stephane Audran) implicated in a scandalous murder case, who gets distracted by a local sexpot (Louise Bourgoin), the girl of the title. The best thing about Fontaine's uneven flick is the great Audran, ex-wife of Claude Chabrol, terrific star of a number of his major early films.
