When Guiding Light got the ax after a 75-year run, a hole was left in reliable programming about the travails of wholesome Midwesterners. Enter Liz Tuccillo, author of He's Just Not That Into You, and a few of her Sex and the City co-writers. Their Cedar City Falls, a live theatrical soap about a fictional Midwestern town, adopts all the familiar affects of great serial drama: religion, accidents, and, oh, yeah, civil war. Special guest stars appear weekly, including Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order) and Grant Shaud (Murphy Brown). We're sure Carrie and pals were invited, but, you know, it's in Brooklyn.
Wed., Nov. 4, 7 & 9:30 p.m.; Tuesdays, 7 & 9:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 4. Continues through Nov. 24, 2009
