In the past year, the New York composer/inventor Tristan Perich has paired his one-bit sound-generators with crotales, toy pianos, a male choir, strings, woodwinds, and brass. For the premiere performance of Dual Synthesis at the Stone—just in time to load the damn thing into the van for a cross-country art-space tour—Perich's wonderful chips meet a harpsichord. Also up is Perich's fellow ITP grad (and Loud Objects collaborator) Lesley Flanigan debuting Amplifications, the latest installment in her ongoing Speaker Synth project, fusing her haunting wordless evocations with even more haunting homemade electronics.
