"I'm not sure I know what the point is, and I don't care. That shit gets on my nerves," wrote the Voice's Annie Fischer in a review of Double Dagger's 2007 CMJ showcase. She was reportedly pissed that lead singer Nolen Strals kept forcing his fingers into audience members' mouths, though Double Dagger's devil-may-care discordance and art-fucked lyricism (the dazed "I Was So Bored That I Wanted to Hang Myself on the Dance Floor" repeats the sentiment to its squelch-filled conclusion) is tantamount to their Wham City scene. In closing, who cares what the point is—finger-fucking with the audience is merely foreplay. With Black Wine, Night Birds, Dope Body, and Mordern Hut.
