ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT

The creators of a show: These are their stories

In the two decades that Law & Order has been providing work for the underemployed theater people of New York, the only thing that has changed is the amount of synthesized electric guitar used in the intro (they’ve gone from less to more, if that’s even possible). Otherwise, this show hasn’t budged from its rightful place as the thing to watch when there is nothing else on—which can be any night of the week since it spawned two offspring, Special Victims Unit and Criminal Intent. Celebrate the dear old standby’s anniversary at Law & Order: Twenty Years and Counting with creator Dick Wolf, executive producer René Balcer, and cast members S. Epatha Merkerson and Sam Waterston.
