The Adventures of Prince Achmed

Dir. Lotte Reiniger (1926). Reiniger was a pioneer animator, famous for her silhouette pictures. For her ground-breaking Achmed, the first feature-length animation picture, she had a multi-plane camera specially designed and built and created 250,000 single images. An Arabian Nights tale, full of ingenious ideas, it hops from Baghdad to China as the hero confronts an evil sorcerer.
