GNAW

The experimental caterwauls of Gnaw are as unsettling as their name. Containing key members metal groups with various extreme proclivities—Khanate (very slow), O.L.D. (very fast). and Burning Witch (very stoner-y)—this New York-based underground supergroup takes its time in doling out flagellant exercises in noise for noise's sake and ear-piercing screams. The band has even rigged its own "noise trigger," MacGyver-style, out of a contact mike and a cymbal, for extra unpleasantness. With Earthen Grave and a band with enough gall to call themselves Iron Man.
