There's no doubt that Kentucky-based rap trio CunninLynguists understand the power of a good play on words. Aside from their name (which is no Swollen Members), tracks such as "K.K.K.Y." and "To Be For Real" illustrate the southern Gothicism to be found in ridin' dirty, delivered by rappers Deacon the Villain, Kno, and Natti, spit-shined in bourbon. Sure to be featuring new songs from both volumes of 2009's Strange Journey, let tonight's performance at the Highline Ballroom take you for a ride across the dirty South. UGK might have written the International Player's Anthem, but there's no reason CunninLynguists can't ask for an encore. With Grieves.
