GOOD TRADITIONS NEVER DIE

Come on, you have to watch it at least once this year

There aren’t many movies that, year after year, inspire the human spirit as much as It’s a Wonderful Life (well, maybe the Goonies, perhaps?). Especially in these doom-and-gloom times, there’s something about watching Jimmy Stewart battling the curmudgeonly Mr. Potter to make a better life for his wife (played by the lovely Donna Reed), children, and the local townspeople that always warms our cynical hearts. George Bailey’s life might not have turned out the way he planned, empty of travels and wealth, but he had something much more important: the love and support of his friends (awww . . .). No better time to watch this Christmas classic than now to remind us to appreciate all that we do have. And that’s our Hallmark card statement of the year! (Donna Reed's daughter Mary Owen will make an appearance at the screening on December 24 at 4:15.)
Thu., Dec. 24, 11 a.m., 1:25 & 4:15 p.m.; Fri., Dec. 25, 1:25, 4:15 & 7:10 p.m., 2009
