LAZY BOY

Get comfortable with David Greenspan

The Foundry Theater has excellent vision. Whether ceding the stage to an early career artist or supporting a mid-career one, the Foundry has championed remarkable theatermakers who challenge and complicate what we consider a play. Happily, the Foundry has now turned its eagle eyes toward Obie winner David Greenspan, an actor and writer of astonishing literary and histrionic gifts. In The Myopia, a solo show about the difficulties of memory and family, Greenspan never leaves his armchair, yet he portrays a cavalcade of characters, including 16 senators conspiring to nominate Warren G. Harding to the presidency, as well as Carol Channing. On weekends, he will also portray Gertrude Stein in the lecture piece Plays. What a sight!
Wednesdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Jan. 6. Continues through Feb. 10, 2010
