The way the fierce drummer's loaded his gun for this date suggests a return of his Audio-Visualscapes stance. That means aggression and intricacy meet up for a booty call. George Colligan's keybs and Dave Fiuczynski's electric guitar are liable to fry up plenty of friction, but it's the fire-breathing attack of saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa that might take the whole thing to the next level. DeJohnette has been waxing acoustic of late, but this date should remind us of his expertise with power tools.
