This Night I’ll Possess Your Corpse
Dir. Jose Mojica Marins (1967). In this follow-up to At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul, evil Coffin Joe is back. He survived the earlier movie's vengeful denouement and now moves to a new village where he sets up shop as a mortician and kidnaps a number of nubile females in search of a perfect woman worthy of bearing his child. Most of the cast are subjected to the bites of poisonous spiders or wind up thrown into snake pits. A few totally surreal sequences are startling and memorable, but the flick becomes an exhausting experience, marred by overkill.
