Charlotte Gainsbourg

Somewhere between 1984's "Lemon Incest," which she recorded at age 13 with her father, Serge Gainsbourg, and the even more challenging sexuality of Lars von Trier's Antichrist, Charlotte Gainsbourg evolved into one of France's finer pop singers (right alongside Carla Bruni). She arrives in anticipation of the Beck-produced IRM. The title is French for MRI, a reference to Gainsbourg's 2007 cerebral hemorrhage, and the album indeed resembles a full body scan of a brave yet bruised artist in full flower.
