'Silent Films/Live Guitars with David Bromberg & Marc Ribot'

The New York Guitar Festival's four-show series pairs classic silent films with new scores composed and performed by intrepid fretsmen. Folk legend David Bromberg is an inspired choice for Charlie Chaplin's comedy The Immigrant, a timely (it's also known as Broke) 1917 short featuring the Tramp in chaotic steamship transit. Pathos and comedy mix in Chaplin's 1921 hit, The Kid; Marc Ribot should have no problem navigating, as he's performed so much Tom Waits in the past.
