Sherlock Jr.

Dir. Buster Keaton (1924) One of the great comic's masterpieces, this lyrical contemplation of the film medium stars the Great Stone Face as a hapless projectionist who dreams he's in the film he's showing. A French critic aptly noted: "If a thousand years hence, the cinema were as dead as the dodo, any archaeologist would be capable of recapturing its essence simply by having the good fortune to see Sherlock Jr."
Wednesdays-Fridays, 1:30 p.m. Starts: Jan. 27. Continues through Jan. 29, 2010
