SPRAY IT, DON'T SAY IT

Jef Aerosol hearts Jay-Z

Thanks to street artist Jef Aerosol, we get to walk by the likes of Brigitte Bardot and Bob Dylan every day like it's no biggie. His lifesize stencils of pop-culture icons, meticulously cut by hand, make our morning commute a pleasure—and New York looks better because of them. But to see his latest work, you'll have to go to the Ad Hoc Gallery, which presents the France-based artist's first solo show in NYC. We'll be closely studying his five-layer hand-cut stencil tribute to our new Pazz and Jop winner, Jay-Z. Oh, and in case you missed it, Ad Hoc recently closed its doors at 49 Bogart Street to move to 990 Bedford Avenue. However, Aerosol's show will be next door at 43 Bogart Street. Got that?
