This particular set of the 15-venue, two-weekend festival is also a record release party for Focused Fire, the full-length debut of Paul Josephs's hip-hop-infused combo Metrosonics. It's appropriate: If Metrosonics are anything, they're a group devoted to the nature of living and creating in NYC. More directly, it's music that should play well onstage—full of raps that are packed with as much bravado as they are hope and soul, the mess of background musicians should keep the action lively and positive. This BAM set also features Jean Grae, Rich Medina, Scribe, and Chela.
